Woman gives birth in her car by the side of the road as baby comes early on the way to hospital appointment
A MUM gives birth in her roadside van after going into labour prematurely – while on her way to an antenatal appointment at the hospital.
Pimpapha Kudthed, 29, pulled over when she felt an intense pαín and realised her baby would not wait.
The mother recalled: “In fact, I saw red a week before the birth of the child, but because there was no labor pαín, I thought that the due date was still more than half a month away, and I didn’t take it to heart.”
And this morning, after ten o’clock in the morning, labour began ᴘᴀɪɴs.
She realised that the child could be born, but by then, all the family members were away. She was the only one at home with the child. She had no way to call her husband and then drive herself to the hospital. But she didn’t expect the contractions to come so fast and so pαínful, so she could only park the car on the side of the highway and call for help. Her daughter was also nervous in the car and burst into tears.
Pimpapha said: “I was driving to my appointment with the doctor when I started to get intense pains in my stomach.
“I pulled over and then realised I was having my baby.
Passengers who heard her cries came to her aid while others alerted the local Petchkasem Foundation in Petchaburi, Thailand.
Such organisations often take the place of regular ambulances in cases of accident or illness, especially among poorer people.
“Thankfully the foundation got to me and delivered my baby in my car. I am very grateful for their help.”
Amazing footage shows the moment when doctors helped deliver a healthy baby, watched by Pimpapha’s curious daughter leaning forward from the back of the vehicle.
The mother and child were then taken to the nearby hospital in Hua Hin.
