Where Grace Is Served on the Rocks

One Sunday morning, a man forgot to silence his phone during a solemn prayer, and it suddenly rang out at full volume.

The pastor publicly scolded him from the pulpit. After the service, the congregation glared at him and muttered judgmental criticisms. To top it all off, his wife gave him a brutal, non-stop lecture the entire drive home. Smothered in humiliation and shame, the man vowed never to step foot in that church again.

Seeking some peace that very evening, he walked into a local bar. Still shaken and nervous from the morning’s events, his hands trembled, and he accidentally knocked his full drink right off the table, smashing it onto the floor.

He froze, bracing for the worst.

Instead, the waiter rushed over with napkins and apologized for the slippery table. The janitor quickly swept up the mess with a warm smile, and the bar manager walked over, handed him a fresh, complimentary drink on the house, and gave him a gentle hug.

“Don’t worry about it, sir,” she smiled warmly. “Everyone has those days.”

From that day on, he never missed a night at the bar.

Moral of the story: Sometimes, you have to go to a tavern to find the kind of grace they only preach about in church.
