Viral TikTok sparks heated online debate over reclining seats on long-haul flights.

Finding a comfy seat on an aircraft may be a real pain in the neck, especially on long-haul flights.

Do you recline your seat or use a neck pillow? Should you fly first class or economy?

One TikTok user and travel influencer presented an issue that comes up on all flights, but especially on long-haul flights: should you recline your seat?

After presenting her scenario, she ignited an internet debate.

Taylor Futch, known as @tfutchh on TikTok, posted a situation on the social networking platform that many of us are all too acquainted with.

While traveling, she lowered her seat to settle down and feel comfortable, but the passenger behind her was upset, so they pushed back.

“Y’all this girl just shoved my seat forward and said I’m not allowed to recline for my 10-hour flight because it’s too much for her,” Taylor wrote on a nine-second clip that has since gone viral. “What do I do?”

People were quick to reply to the 26-year-old’s situation, albeit they disagreed on what she should do.

“Y’all are insane… if I paid for a seat that reclines imma recline it!!! And if the person behind you recline theirs also… ✨they have the same amount of room✨” a commenter reasoned.

Meanwhile someone else wrote, “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I wouldn’t like it if someone done it to me so I don’t do it to them. ✨”

Some people said they would stayed “squished,” even on a long flight because they didn’t want to inconvenience the person behind them.

At least one person did not blame the traveling public, arguing that the wrath should be directed toward the airlines.

“For y’all saying it’s rude to recline, you’re actually mad at the airline. Literally email them to make the seats bigger and give you more room.”

Taylor uploaded a part two where she said she kept her seat reclined except for meal service.

What do you think? It is reasonable to recline your seat on an airplane no matter how long the flight or does the length of the flight play a part?
