Taylor Swift is perhaps the most renowned person in the world right now. Seriously, with her barnstorming Eras tour, her high-profile engagement with NFL star Travis Kelce, and her ever-expanding library of musical songs, there can’t be many people on Earth who don’t recognize her.
While I wouldn’t know (I’m not very famous), I suspect it’s a bit of a poisoned chalice, the old fame thing. On the one hand, it must be wonderful to be loved by millions, to have infinite wealth, and to know that everytime you step outside your door, people will want to meet you.
On the other hand, there are a whole lot of downsides that come with being so recognizable and popular. Take, for example, the fact that no matter what you do, no matter where you go, no matter how you’re feeling or what you’re wearing, you’re going to be scrutinized.
This is to be anticipated when you reach the pinnacle of popularity, and we would expect a true celebrity like Taylor Swift to be well used to it by now.
However, there are other parts of the publicity she receives, as well as the ensuing fan reaction, that leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. They do in mine, in any case, especially when they refer to the singer’s physical appearance or speculate about her pregnancy.
Only yesterday did we write that online users were quick to attack Swift following her presence at last week’s NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is a tight end with the Chiefs, so it’s no surprise that the Bad Blood hitmaker came out to support him.
The duo was subsequently photographed again at the US Open on September 8, sparking a new wave of remarks about Swift’s look. The 34-year-old donned a red and white checkered dress for the event, and it appears that many of individuals who viewed the photos when they were subsequently published online believed she was hiding something major beneath it.
The dress in question, reportedly available at Reformation, is purchasable online for $248 and has a fitted bodice and thin straps.
However, the concept that Swift may be pregnant proved to be far more popular than the beauty of the clothing! While we are cautious to support the idea because there is no evidence other than folks chirping online, there are some who are far more sure.
“She looks pregnant 🤰 ❤️,” wrote one fan on Instagram.
“Is she pregnant?!” another asked.
“That GIRL is pregnant lol,” said a third.
One X user wrote: “Is Taylor Swift pregnant? She’s so thin, but with a slight belly.”
