Badass Australian mum gives birth to record-setting 13.11 pounds baby with no epidural
Natasha Corrigan made international headlines after giving birth to a 13-pound, 4-ounce baby — or a “fat little man,” as she called him.
Brian Liddle Jr. is one of the biggest babies ever born in Australia, and is twice the average birthweight. Corrigan gave birth to Brian after seven hours of a natural labor, which she said extra staff members had to help with due to the baby’s size.
BABY Brian Liddle is not as his name suggests. In fact, he is one of the largest babies ever born in Australia.
Tipping the scales at a whopping 6kgs, or 13.11 pounds, Brian Liddle Jnr weighs twice as much as an average baby.
He was born at Mercy Hospital, in Melbourne, Australia on January 24, but even before his birth doctors knew he would be a bigger than average bundle of joy.
By the time mum-of-four Natashia Corrigan went for 36-week scan, her son was already a kilogram heavier than what her daughter weighed at birth.
“I’ve always wanted a little fat baby and now I’ve got a big baby.”
She said hospital staff and her partner, Brian Liddle, helped get her through the record-breaking birth.
She added: “They kept me strong and calm when it seemed like chaos was happening around me.
Partner Brian said the birth was “a bit scary” but that it all worked out for the best.
