The flesh of the coconut is very rich in healthy fatty acids. The composition of the fats varies depending on the type and processing of the oil. Medium-chain saturated fatty acids make up about 90% of coconut oil, with a slight contribution of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

These medium-chain saturated fatty acids are easily digested and absorbed by our body. They can provide energy and promote neurological health.

Virgin coconut oil is tasty, inexpensive and easy to obtain, yet all natural. It is very useful for our health and has the following properties:

Here are the uses of coconut oil:

Personal hygiene and body

1. Face Washing/Soap – A mixture of coconut oil with olive oil, avocado oil, castor oil and almond oil in equal amounts can replace your regular soap. Wash your face with this mixture instead of your soap. Leave it on your face for 2 minutes so that it can work and after that, wash your face.

2. Hair gel – Between your palms and finger comb, rub some coconut oil or if your hair is curly, rub it on the ends.

3. Baldness – A mixture of thyme, coconut oil, cedarwood, rosemary, jojoba oil, cayenne pepper and lavender should be applied at bedtime or three times during the day and to massage the affected area.

6. Diaper ointment – Since it contains no chemicals, it is totally safe for cloth diapers.

7. Conditioner/Deep Hair Treatment – A teaspoon of this oil should be applied to the ends and into the hair with your fingers. If you want to use it as a deep treatment, you will need to rub a tablespoon of the oil on the dry scalp and rub some into the ends of the hair and let it sit overnight to work.

8. Deodorant – This oil can be used as a deodorant, but it works best when baking soda and cornstarch/black root powder are combined with the oil.
