A six-year-old and his four-year-old brother woke up early on the older boy’s birthday.
Feeling incredibly mature, the six-year-old whispered to his little brother, “I think today is the day we start swearing around Mom. Since I’m six now, I’ll say ‘hell’ and you say ‘ass’.”
The younger brother, thrilled to be part of the rebellion, eagerly agreed. They put on their bravest faces and marched downstairs to the kitchen.
Their mother greeted them with a warm, loving smile. “Good morning, boys! What would you like for breakfast? We have Cheerios or Corn Flakes.”
The six-year-old leaned back, shrugged, and said, “Ah, what the hell. Give me some Corn Flakes.”
Instantly, the mother’s smile vanished. Furious, she grabbed him by the arm, dragged him upstairs, locked him in his room, and gave him a serious punishment.
She stomped back down to the kitchen, breathing heavily, and glared at the trembling four-year-old. She pointed her finger and barked, “And what do YOU want for breakfast?”
The little brother swallowed hard, looked up with wide eyes, and whimpered,
“Well, you can bet your ass it won’t be Corn Flakes!”
