Teenager Froze to Death After Father Threw Him Out of the House for Cannabis Use

One teenager had a horrific ending after his father threw him out of their family home for drug abuse. According to Daily Mail, 19-year-old Lyndon Turner’s frozen body was found in the parking lot of Chobham Common, a popular Surrey nature reserve, just a day after he was asked his leave his family home.

As per the inquest, Turner and his father, Graham, got into an argument after he met with an accident. The father accused the teenager of cannabis use and believed that the accident was a result of Turner’s drug abuse. Consequently, the furious father threw the youngster out of their house.

Later, the body of the teenager was found by walkers in the park. The emergency services quickly arrived at the spot after the call and tried their best to revive the teenager. However, their efforts were all in vain. Soon, the teenager was proclaimed dead, according to Surrey Live. As per assistant coroner Karen Henderson, Turner died of hypothermia.

“I am satisfied he found himself in Chobham Common on the night of December 1, 2020, that he fell asleep during that period of time, and given the time of year it resulted in significant hypothermia which is directly causative of his death,” said Henderson, according to the Daily Mail. Apparently, the youngster had stopped at the spot after being exhausted from a six-mile walk from his father’s home in Ascot.

The toxicology reports showed that the teenager used cannabis frequently. However, it did not contribute to his death. Dr. Henderson summarised the case saying, “I am satisfied on the balance of probabilities that Lyndon was a regular user of cannabis. There were some difficulties with his family circumstances and due to a recent car accident and concerns of his father that he had been using cannabis, that he was asked not to remain at home. Sadly, he did not choose to find somewhere else to live.”

Meanwhile, the texts between the deceased teenager and his sisters showed that the father and son did not share a great relationship after the death of his mother, Sarah Turner. As per the court records, the father told the son he was not welcome at home. He believed that Turner would take refuge in the house of any of his friends.

Authorities, on the other hand, are unable to understand where Turner went before ending up at the location where his body was found. Further, they found texts that suggested the youngster was disturbed by his father’s decision.

In the meantime, cops arrested a 17-year-old in relation to supplying Turner with substance.
