Stranger keeps secretly visiting soldier’s grave; when mom finds out ‘why’, she follows him down.

There is no greater anguish than the loss of a child. Unfortunately, parents whose children are in the military and are deployed to far and foreign places worry about their children’s safety every day.

Joseph Villasenor was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force who loved his nation beyond all else. Unfortunately, after 16 years of service, this valiant guy passed away at the age of 36. His parents, Raymond and Rachel Villasenor, were devastated. They couldn’t believe their son had gone. Dealing with the pain was a great challenge. They told the story of their son’s tragic death and the unexplained incident that occurred shortly after.

When they visited Joseph’s cemetery at Garden Park Cemetery in Arlington, Texas, they saw something unusual: their son’s tomb was covered with a path of lovely, green grass, yet nearly all of the other graves were covered in dead grass and dirt.

They couldn’t have known the reason.

However, they were ignorant of a chance meeting between their daughter and an elderly man named Jake Reissig a few months prior.

Jake was delivering flowers to his late wife’s final resting place when he noticed Joseph’s sister grieving over his grave. He couldn’t help but approach her and inquire why she was sobbing. She added that her brother had suddenly died, and the entire family was devastated and weeping. Jake couldn’t console her, but he could do something to demonstrate that he cared.

He decided to bring flowers to Joseph’s grave. He also watered the grass every day.

When Rachel and her husband Raymond went to visit their son’s grave, they discovered that it was completely covered in beautiful flowers. The sight made them feel better. They didn’t know who to thank for the kind deed.

They eventually discovered that Jake was taking care of the tombstone.

Jake’s kind deed moved them to tears. Words couldn’t describe how grateful they were to this elderly man.

It is during the tough times we experience in life that we need someone to show us they care. Thank you, Jake, people like you make this world a better place.
