Some important guests were about to arrive, and the wife had been busy all day cleaning, cooking, and making sure everything looked perfect.
While she was setting things up in the living room, she walked in and saw her husband casually sitting on the couch, watching TV, wearing an old shirt and a pair of shorts.
She frowned and said, annoyed:
— You’re seriously planning to greet guests dressed like that?
The husband glanced at her and replied with irritation:
— I just want everyone to see clearly… how well you’ve been taking care of me.
The wife paused for a moment.
Instead of getting angry, she simply gave a faint smile and said calmly:
— If you really want them to see that clearly…
She looked straight at him and added slowly:
— Then you might as well t*ke *ff those sh*rts too.
There was a brief silence.
She turned away and said lightly:
— So they can decide… whether you’re even worth taking care of.
