Newborn baby named Dexter snapped is clutching the M.i.r.e.n.a implant in a photo posted on Facebook.
It was his ᴄ.ᴏ.ɴ.ᴛ.ʀ.ᴀ.ᴄ.ᴇ.ᴘ.ᴛ.ɪ.ᴠ.ᴇ device that was meant to stop his mum from becoming pregnant.
Just moments after posted, the photo and baby boy have gone viral.
Lucy Hellein is his mother, who is from Texas, US. The mom discovered she was pregnant in December despite being fitted with the implant four months earlier.
Baby Dexter was born weighing 9lbs 1oz, and Lucy took to her Facebook page to announce the baby’s arrival into the world.
In a cheeky photo, she showed Dexter was holding up the implant, captioned: “Mirena fail!”
The post went viral online after being shared more than 70,000 times online.
Lucy told that she gave birth to Dexter by ᴄ.ᴀ.ᴇ.s.ᴀ.ʀ.ᴇ.ᴀ.ɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ and during the procedure, a surgeron found out her Mirena device.
She claimed they later found it stuck behind her ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀ and also removed one of her f.a.l.l.o.p.i.a.n tubes.
Although Dexter was not in her plan, Lucy told she couldn’t imagine life without him.
“Dexter was definitely meant to be. His original due date was May 4 and even the doctor said ‘the force was strong with this one’.
“Although he wasn’t planned, my family and I feel incredibly blessed.” , she explained.
