In Switzerland, a new concept of cinema was opened, in which the public settles in double beds instead of traditional seats.

The “VIP Room” screen was opened Thursday at the Pathé Cinema in the Spreitenbach municipality (north-west of the country), near the German-Swiss border.

While hoping to attract fans of home delivery services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, movie theater operators have resolved hygiene concerns and inappropriate activities during screenings.

Venanzio Di Bacco, CEO of Pathé Switzerland, told the local news site for 20 minutes that the sheets were swapped between each film and that the design was tested and tested.


Other VIP experiences include a theatre with double sofas (pictured) as well as a 350-capacity IMAX screen

The VIP room has eleven double beds with electronically adjustable headrests.

A ticket costs 49 francs (37 pounds) and includes free food and drink for the film, against 19.50 francs for normal tickets.

The VIP area of ​​the Pathé Cinema also includes an Imax cinema with a capacity of 350 people and a theater with single and double sofas.
