Michael J. Fox Joins Coldplay For Two Epic Songs During Glastonbury Concert

Coldplay gave a massive crowd in Glastonbury, England, a treat when he brought Michael J. Fox onstage to showcase his guitar skills during a concert.

Known for being a major Michael J. Fox fan, Frontman Chris Martin surprised the audience when he called the actor out during a June 29 performance. He introduced the a-lister with a sweet improvised song.


“With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff: ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox,” he sang as Michael made his way out.

In The Past, Michael J. Fox Has Joined Coldplay For Several Performances

He stuck around to strum for Humankind and Fix You before Chris admitted that Michael was the inspiration behind Coldplay.

“The main reason we’re in a band is because of Back to the Future,” he shared. “So thank you to Michael, our hero.”

Footage by BBC shows that Michael nailed the songs and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, and the fans appreciated his cameo just as much as Michael appreciated having it.

The Glastonbury event was not Michael’s first with Coldplay. In 2013, the band played for a Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Research fundraiser, and the duo recreated the iconic Johnny B. Goode scene from Back to the Future. In 2016, he also met Chris Martin in New Jersey where they played Earth Angel and another rendition of Johnny B. Goode during a concert at Metlife stadium.
