Meghan Markle’s Suits co-star worried her about being ‘damaged’ by the announcement that she was dating Prince Harry.
Meghan previously starred in the legal program Suits as Rachel Zane before joining the Royal Family in 2018 when she and Prince Harry married.
However, it has been alleged that when her co-stars discovered she was seeing the prince, they gave her some stern relationship advice.
The duchess appeared in seven series of the show before deciding it was time to depart after her engagement to Harry in 2017.
When the couple was originally linked in 2016, people all around the world were startled to learn that a prince was seeing a divorced American actress, even members of his own family.
And several of her co-stars knew the surprising news before any of us.
They shared their comments on the Today show ahead of Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding, including what they told the former actress when she informed them of her new relationship.
Rick Hoffman, who played Louis Litt on the sitcom, expressed surprise when he discovered out.
“I got the news early and thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.'”
“And we were both in the trailer going, ‘Oh my. “You’re going, and you’re dating a prince?”
After the surprise had passed, he gave Meghan some critical advise, saying: “I was just like, ‘Well, take it slow.
“Be careful. Don’t let him hurt you’.”
Sarah Rafferty added: “[She said] that he’s lovely. You know, they’re a great match. We worked so many years together on a show.
“We spent more time together than we did in college or high school. In some ways, we became like family. We are still family. “This is a fantastic family event.”
Her co-star Gina Torres emphasized the significance of keeping the information ‘close to the vest’.
Suits concluded in 2019, only two seasons after Meghan’s departure.
The popular Netflix series has been a fan favorite for many years, and it topped the top ten most watched list for a month in 2023.
But fans are in still in hope of a reunion one day, after star Patrick J Adams refused to rule out the idea of the cast revisiting the show for one last time at a recent panel on 2 June.
