Despite being the monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles is only ‘Grandpa’ to his five little grandkids.
A video of King Charles spending time with his six-year-old grandson, Prince Louis, has shown royal admirers an adorable side of the monarch. A video from June 2022 shows the then-Prince Charles sitting with his family at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Concert.
Prince Louis, known for his mischievous pranks, was sitting just a few seats away from the now-King. The video shows Louis, then four, telling Prince William that he was excited to sit alongside his grandfather.
William, who is next in line to the throne, asks the King whether the youngster can sit with him.
Captions on the video show that the 42-year-old likely said to his father, “Grandpa, can Louis sit on your knee?”, to which the King agreed.
Taking to a post on X, which included a video of the sweet moment, one fan commented: “You can see the love on his face when Louis gets in his lap it’s very endearing to say the least.”
Another commented: “Shows how the children value their grandpa! So sweet [pink-hearts emoji].”
A third fan wrote: I am so happy for [King Charles] that he has this affectionate relationship with his grandkids.
“A relationship he never had with his own parents and rarely with his children. This must be healing for him and for the family.”
In addition to being the grandfather of Louis, George, and Charlotte, King Charles has two younger grandchildren: Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
