If you are going on vacation, place a coin on an ice cup in the freezer. This trick will save you a lot of money!

When there is a storm outside or we go on a long vacation, the last thing we think about is the food in our refrigerator. No one wants to come home and find a fridge full of spoiled food.

Now you can save yourself a huge headache by deciding what can be left and what needs to be thrown away. And it’s all thanks to one woman and her tremendous trick that will save you a lot of money.

Sheila Pulanco Russell, is the proud woman who helps millions of people around the world. This trick will require a cup of coffee, a coin (doesn’t matter which one), and tap water.

Sheila shared her trick on Facebook for all the world to see:

“For those of you that are evacuating from the coast, I just heard a great tip. It’s called the one cup tip. You put a cup of water in your freezer.. You put a cup of water in your freezer. Freeze it solid and then put a quarter on top of it and leave it in your freezer. ”

At first this may seem confusing, but there is an important reason to do this before leaving the house for a long time.

Sheila explained how exactly it works in her Facebook post that has gone viral:

“That way when you come back after you’ve been evacuated you can tell if your food went completely bad and just refroze or if it stayed Frozen while you were gone.

But if the quarter is either on the top or in the middle of the cup then your food may still be ok.

It would also be a great idea to leave this in your freezer all the time and if you lose power for any reason you will have this tip to fall back on.

If you don’t feel good about your food, just throw it out.

The main thing is for all to be safe.

Please SHARE this on your page. ”

Now you will have an easy way to know if you have had a power outage at home and whether the food in your freezer has thawed and needs to be thrown away or not.
