Husband Transitioned To Become A Woman And The Marriage Is Now Stronger And Happier Than Ever

A couple in the US say their marriage is stronger and happier than ever since the husband transitioned to become a woman.

Taylor Vannmalsen is a 29-year-old from Michigan that knew she wanted to be female from a very young age, and told her wife Sarah about this desire from the very start of their relationship. The couple now says that their marriage is stronger and happier ever since the husband transitioned to a woman.

Although the 27-year-old Sarah needed eight months in therapy to come to terms that she’s in a lesbian relationship, she ultimately became the main driving force behind Taylor’s transition, especially after their daughter Valerie came to life.

Taylor, 29, used her life savings and a credit card to spend $29,000 (£23,042) on surgery to reposition her brow and remove her Adam’s apple, as well as getting a breast augmentation and lip filler; though full gender reassignment ‘isn’t on the agenda yet’.

Having been unsure about how the change would affect the marriage, both Taylor and Sarah said their relationship is now stronger than ever.

Taylor said: “I am now becoming the real Taylor, I decided to keep my birth name which I hated as a boy. Ironically people used to always say, ‘That sounds like a girl’s name’.

“A lot of people are interested in our sex life and wonder if I have had gender reassignment, but that isn’t on the agenda yet. My main priority was presenting as a female so I can be me.”

Taylor added that Sarah was the first person she ever told that she wanted the transition, and she was thankful for her honesty. Although it was weird at the beginning, Taylor felt like she was cheating her out of a spouse before because she was always down and just a shell of herself. Now, however, she’s able to be who she is, and she gives Sarah all her love and affection.

Sarah, on the other hand, suffered from a great deal of anxiety at the beginning of her partner’s transition, but now they’re both the happiest they’ve ever been.

Sarah received help from a therapist to overcome her anxiety and work on what it will be like, but she discovered that it wouldn’t matter and that all of her “What ifs” were worked on.
