The Australian woman said she had cut ties with her partner who refused to quit smoking despite doctors repeatedly telling her she had chronic lung disease, not thinking about her child and the pain it would endure.
“The morning my husband was told he was going to ᴅɪᴇ was the morning I knew I had to leave him,” she said, as per the Daily Mail.
According to the woman, her husband ignored the advice of the doctors or her child and continued to follow the vices that gradually swallowed her life.
The woman’s partner reportedly said, “That’s it, if you keep ᴅʏɪɴɢ, at least keep smoking.” No one could convince him to stop.
“I looked at my husband and realized he wasn’t listening to what he was being told,” she said.
As a mother, I knew right away that I had to save my son. I didn’t want him to grow up taking care of his father.
“I didn’t want to see the gradual decline of a father who does nothing to help himself,” the woman said.
