What started off as something fun and innocent quickly turned into one of the most frightening moments for two women and their lives.
An anxiety-ridden and frightening video has been circulating around the internet that showcases the moment that two women were flung off a swing on the edge of a cliff in Russia.
The pair were swinging over Sulak Canyon in Dagestan, a Russian region that faces the Caspian Sea, when something went horribly wrong, causing the swing’s cable to snap and send the women flying off the 6,300-foot cliff. Miraculously, they both survived.
The videos, which were filmed in June but have recently been widely shared on social media, show one of the swing’s chains suddenly snapping.
The women then appear to fall off the cliff edge and can be seen tumbling towards the Sulak Canyon, which is about 200 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon, eliciting screams of horror from witnesses.
Miraculously, the women both survived the incident.
Thankfully, the ladies landed on a narrow platform under the edge of the cliff, saving them from a more detrimental circumstance. The Sun reported that the two only suffered a few cuts and bruises despite the extreme toss. “The girls got scared and sustained scratches, but neither of them suffered serious injuries,” a source told Komsomolskaya Pravda, as per the Sun.
They were dragged to safety by their family, only suffering from bruises and scratches, the newspaper reported.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating the safety failings at this location, Yahoo! News said.
The Ministry of Tourism in Dagestan said that swing did not meet safety standards, the media outlet reported.
Police have since banned the attraction and others like it, according to The Mirror.
