Every Organ Wanted to Retire… But One Had the Saddest Complaint
One lazy Sunday afternoon, a man was lying in his hammock, half asleep after lunch.
As he drifted off, he suddenly heard voices coming from inside his own body.
His Brain spoke first.
“I think I’m ready to retire,” it sighed.
“I’ve been working nonstop since the day this man was born. Stress, bills, marriage, politics, passwords… I’m exhausted.”
The other organs immediately protested.
“You can’t retire!” said the Heart.
“If you stop working, the whole system falls apart.”
The Brain grumbled but stayed quiet.
Then the Heart cleared its throat.
“Well… if the Brain can’t retire, maybe I should. I’ve been beating every second of every day for over sixty years. No weekends. No vacations. And after all the fried food and whiskey this guy’s put me through? I deserve a break.”
The Lungs jumped in.
“Absolutely not! If you quit, we’re all done for.”
Then the Liver spoke up.
“Easy for you to say. I’ve been filtering beer, bourbon, and late-night regret since college.”
The Kidneys agreed.
The Back complained.
Even the Knees chimed in:
“We’ve been carrying this idiot upstairs for decades.”
Soon every body part was arguing about who deserved retirement the most.
Then suddenly…
a weak voice came from way down below.
“Honestly… I should be the one retiring.”
The whole body went silent.
The Brain frowned and shouted,
“Who said that?”
The voice replied,
“Me.”
The Brain asked,
“And why exactly do YOU deserve retirement?”
The voice answered:
“Because I’ve spent my entire life working in a damp environment…”
A pause.
“…under constant pressure…”
Another pause.
“…and these days, I can barely stand up anymore.”
The Brain said,
“Well then, stand up and introduce yourself!”
And the voice snapped back:
“Buddy… if I could still stand up on command…”
Long pause.
“…I wouldn’t be asking for retirement.” 💀😂
