Brad Gegare, Kiley Gegare’s dad, was her idol, and the two had a lot of happy moments. However, in 2019, when their family was given tragic news, their lives seemed flipped upside down.
Accordingly, Brad had been diagnosed with cancer and was given only a few months to live, which made Kiley devastated. Brad was so important to her and she still had so many plans with him, such as a father-daughter wedding dance.
Kiley was 19 when she learned her father wouldn’t be around for much longer. In the midst of her grief, she planned a strategy to make one of her childhood fantasies a reality.
Though Kiley, then a college freshman from Wisconsin, wasn’t engaged or on the verge of marriage, she set out to plan the perfect moment with her dad. She informed her mother that she wanted to dance with her father at the wedding celebration.
Kiley had no clue her concept would become a reality. With the support of friends, family, and strangers, they were able to create a memorable day. Local companies stepped to help the family with everything from hair and beauty to a venue.
On the other hand, Tiffani’s Bridal in Appleton supplied one item that truly made the event seem like a wedding day. Tiffani Ebben, the owner, worked her magic and found a garment that suited Kiley exactly.
The college freshmanlooked lovely in her outfit and was eager to invite her father to dance. Brad was overcome with emotion as a result of the major event, and he battled to keep back his emotions.
The visitors all broke out in tears, and Kiley’s mother, Kris Wallace, described the incredible moment-they had him turn around so he couldn’t see her, then turn around again. He and she both broke down.
Kiley revealed how special the day was to her in 2021. Her father was no longer around, but she had images to remind her of everything they shared.
She appreciated the photos and all the people who contributed to the event’s success. The family posted their experience online in the hopes that it will inspire others to be compassionate and help others wherever possible.
The kind act served as a reminder that there is still kindness in the world, even in the midst of tragedy. Tiffani, thank you for sharing such an essential message! You are an earthly angel.
