Johnny was in serious trouble.
His dad had just finished giving him a lecture about respecting nature.
“You swatted a bee,” Dad said sternly. “No honey for a month!”
Johnny nodded sadly.
“And you pulled the wings off a butterfly,” Dad continued. “No butter for a month!”
Johnny lowered his head and accepted his punishment.
Then, just as everyone sat down for dinner, a cockroach suddenly sprinted across the kitchen floor.
Mom let out a terrified scream, grabbed a shoe, and stomped it flat.
The kitchen went silent.
Johnny slowly turned toward his dad.
He raised one eyebrow and whispered…
“Dad… are you gonna tell her?”
Dad swallowed hard.
Johnny grinned.
“Or should I?”
