Weddings are a time of celebration for family members to come together and witness the marriage of their loved ones.
And one dad melted the hearts of his family as he went out of his way to extend a friendly hand to his ex-wife’s new husband on his child’s wedding day.
In an emotional video posted on TikTok by Kelsey Griffith, @GriffithK5, the bride and her father can be seen walking down the aisle together as per wedding tradition.
As Kelsey Griffith walked down the aisle at her wedding, the videographer and family members took a video of the special moment. Just as Kelsey and her dad start walking down the aisle, they pass Kelsey’s stepfather sitting to the left.
Kelsey’s father has a surprise in store for her.
As they proceed down the aisle, Kelsey’s father suddenly stops in his tracks and offers his daughter’s stepdad a hand.
A father’s unconditional love.
Kelsey was as shocked as the other guests. She watched amazed as her father pulled her stepdad beside her so he could join them. Her stepdad looks shocked but gladly accepts the invitation. He stands beside Kelsey and she gently takes his arm with her left hand and her father’s with her right.
The two men then each linked arms with the bride and continued walking her down the aisle to meet her groom.
A message of love.
Weddings are all about accepting those for who they are, faults included. What better way to show his daughter and every other guest what the true meaning of love is than to include Kelsey’s stepdad in the ceremony. Kelsey and her new husband are starting their future in a great way…with a loving and accepting extended family behind them through thick and thin.
