If you are a fan of chicken, you can’t miss this Cripta chicken strips
Ingredients:
– 2 chicken breasts
– 1 cup toasted corn flakes
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 large egg, beaten
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
– 1/2 cup ketchup
– 1/4 cup pitted black olives, chopped
Instructions:
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and set it aside.
Step 2. Cut the chicken breasts into strips, about 1/2 inch wide. Season the chicken strips with salt and let them sit for a few minutes.
Step 3. Place the toasted corn flakes in a ziplock bag and crush them slightly with your hands or use a rolling pin. You want them to be crushed but still have some texture.
Step 4. Set up a breading station. In one shallow bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, add the crushed corn flakes.
Step 5. Take each chicken strip and lightly coat it with flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it with the crushed corn flakes, pressing gently to adhere the flakes to the chicken. Repeat this process with all the chicken strips.
Step 6. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the coated chicken strips in a single layer. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn golden brown and crispy. You may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
Step 7. Once cooked, transfer the chicken strips to the prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Place them in the preheated oven for an additional 5-8 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked and remain crispy.
Step 8. While the chicken is baking, prepare the ketchup and olive sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and chopped black olives until well combined.
Step 9. Once the chicken strips are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Step 10. Serve the crispy chicken strips with the ketchup and olive sauce on the side for dipping or drizzle the sauce over the chicken. You can also serve them with your favorite side dishes, such as a salad or roasted vegetables.
