The saying “Love finds its own way” may seem an old cliché to many people but not for these lovebirds who met again 30 years after they became each other’s childhood crush.
A Florida couple who met on a dating website and fell in love have only just realized they were actually preschool sweethearts when they were three years old.
Justin Pounders, 33, says he was ‘instantly drawn’ to Amy Giberson, also 33, when he came across her photo online.
The two began texting and talking on the phone, before soon planning a first date in their home town of St Petersberg.
Giberson says she felt the same when she first met Pounders.
‘When I first saw him, I felt that I was staring at the man I was going to marry,’ she told the magazine.
After that date, the two met up every day, and quickly fell in love.
However, it only came to light a year later that their love story has gone way back years ago when Justin joked that he loved Amy’s name because he had a crush on a girl with a similar name during preschool.

“I joked to him, ‘Well, it’s not me, so I don’t want to hear about her,” Amy said.
That was when both Amy and Justin realised that they actually went to the same preschool, Sunshine Preschool in St. Petersburg, Florida, back then and at the same time.
Each went to their parents and asked them to dig up some photos.
‘Justin’s mom found a photo of the two of us together and I just started crying, I was ecstatic,’ Giberson said.
‘I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was definitely meant to be.’
Pounders added: ‘Someone or something definitely decided we weren’t supposed to reconnect until now.’
‘We’ve been so close to finding each other this whole time but didn’t until the time was right. And that’s now.’
The couple have now set up an Instagram account documenting their romance.
Even one of the preschool teachers, Diane, remembers the two and their courtship.
‘They had a blast with each other,’ Twar told People.
‘It was a quiet, bashful romance. They liked each other from afar, it was a young love, like a sweet crush, you know?
‘They insisted on sitting next to each other in our school picture.’
Pounders said he intends on proposing, but is waiting for the perfect time.
