Children don’t say “I had a hard day, can we talk? They say, “will you come play with me?”

Children have a different way of feeling and communicating with adults. The ways they overcome difficulties are also very different.

They do not say “Today is a difficult day for me, can you talk to me?”. They can go through a really tough day, but they didn’t name it.

They also do not think it is necessary to have a conversation to share about the difficulties they face. Talking seriously with the full story seems to be an adult’s own way.

They just say to their parents, “Can you play with me?”. With them, “playing” makes them happy and forget about the fatigue they have encountered. “Playing” is a way of communication, sharing and understanding.

So when your child asks you to play with him/her, just have fun playing with him/her. It is a way for you to feel, listen to your child’s thoughts, and create motivation and joy for them to overcome their difficulties
