Bees Voted To Be The Most Important Living Beings On Earth
Bees are the most important living creatures in the world
The 2008 meeting of the Royal Geographical Society of London brought the Earthwatch Institute to a conclusion that I find extremely valuable.
Bees have been declared as the most important organisms on the planet. This is a very important step as they are on the long list of endangered species with a population decline of 90%.
Pesticides, deforestation and lack of flowers have contributed to the threat of extinction, which is a major concern. For 70% of our food production, we depend on bees and, moreover, all our fauna would disappear without them.
A study carried out by the Universidad Mayor Beekeeping Entrepreneurship Center (CeapiMayor) and the Apiculture Corporation of Chile (Cach) with the support of the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA) came to a very interesting conclusion: Bees do not carry any pathogens – the only living thing that does.
We need to be more active in protecting those little people who work hard and time is running out. Activists believe that we should ban, if not ban, pesticides and look for healthier and more natural alternatives.
We should also regularly monitor their health and well-being.
It is not surprising that many celebrities have come on board. Morgan Freeman turns his nearly 3-acre Mississippi farm into a huge bee sanctuary.
“There is a concerted effort to bring bees back to the planet … we do not know they are at the root of the planet’s growth and vegetation,” Morgan Freeman said in an interview.
