Baking soda cleans and makes tiles shine: here’s how to use it

No one wants to feel like their bathroom isn’t clean, but there is one thing that many of us tend to overlook when it comes to tidying up the washroom: tile joints.

Many people put off cleaning their tile joints because it’s notoriously hard to wash, but that’s only if you don’t use the correct techniques. In an effort to help you work smarter and not harder, we rounded up some of the easiest ways to clean tile joints

1 – DISHING LIQUID

A common product and always on hand at home, a simple dishwashing liquid can help you clean your blackened tile joints.

Instructions

Mix this liquid with hot water and place this mixture on your joints.
Leave it on for a few minutes and rub your tile joints before rinsing them thoroughly.
You can also add white vinegar to the dishwashing liquid/hot water mixture for greater effectiveness.

2 – WITH SODA CRYSTALS

Before covering your wall tiles because they are too dirty, try this cleaning method: dissolve 125 g of soda crystals in 60 cl of hot water and clean the joints using an old toothbrush . Be careful, wear gloves and protective glasses when handling soda crystals. Then rinse with clean water.

3 – THE CLAY STONE

Economical and ecological, clay stone is very effective for maintaining your home. Once you have cleaned your joints with this natural product, there is a good chance that you will abandon your household products purchased in the supermarket. This natural stone does not contain any chemicals and can revive blackened tile joints. To do this, scrub your floor using a damp sponge soaked in clay. Then rinse with a clean cloth to shine the surface.

4 – WITH BAKING SODA

When the tiles in your house look gray and the joints have become dirty, there is another miracle product to help you recover them: baking soda. If you use grandmother’s tips on a daily basis, you probably have a pot of them stored in a cupboard at home! To clean tile joints with baking soda, here is the method to follow:

In a spray bottle, mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with 10 centimeters of white vinegar. The mixture will start to foam like a mini-volcano: don’t worry, this chemical reaction is completely normal.
Spray the baking soda-white vinegar mixture on the dirty tile joints, then leave the product on for 24 hours until it can act.
Scrub your joints using a toothbrush or sponge, rinse with water, and admire the result!

5 – MEUDON WHITE

Instructions

Apply it to the joints to be treated with a damp sponge.
Wait 1 or 2 hours for the product to work on the dirt.
Scrub the tile joint with an old toothbrush intended only for this purpose for precision work on dirty floor tiles or wall tiles.
Rinse thoroughly.
