Serbia is a country which is full of diverse landscapes. One can drive through charming rural areas as well as bustling big cities. The following man made one exciting discovery when he drove his van through the Serbian countryside. This video from October 2020 has gone viral online shows how an animal rescue worker brought an abandoned dog home and gave her a new life.
Farmland Everywhere
In the video below, a animal rescue worker from Serbia drives down a country road. The man was returning to his employer, the Dog Rescue Shelter. When cornfields flanked him, the man spotted something that looked like a puppy moving near the side of the road.
Exploration
The man then decided to investigate. Reportedly, a bad rainstorm was expected to hit this region shortly, and he didn’t like the thought of leaving anybody, whether person or animal, outside in the bad weather. The man slowed down and carefully scanned the hillside next to the cornfield.
He Found Amazing Thing
It turned out that a small brown and white puppy with medium-length, floppy ears looked down at him from the edge of the cornfield. He then pulled his white van over to the side of the road and parked it. After that, he walked over to investigate.
A Closer Look
Because the Serbian Samaritan was an animal service professional, he quickly sized up the situation. He immediately saw that the small dog had missing fur around her neck because the fact that she had been chained up and left alone for quite some time. The man also quickly checked her teeth and determined that she was probably only about one year old.
Cute Puppy Showed Gratitude
Initially, the rescue worker approached this dog rather cautiously as he would any stray. After several seconds, the dog laid on the ground and then began wagging her tail, which meant that she had identified him as her boss and that she was happy that he had found her.
Into the Van
It didn’t take the man much to lure the relieved pup into his arms. He quickly picked her up under one arm and then carried her to his van. When riding to the shelter, the puppy enjoyed viewing her new life from the passenger’s seat.
Cleaning Detail
After the man and the puppy arrived at the shelter, it was time to transition to house pet life. When she was being bathed, the worker noticed many large ticks and fleas on her fur. The man also got a closer look at the lacerations and irritated skin around her neck.
Now that the puppy was cleaned up, the worker named her Lucy. Lucy was then introduced to her new foster siblings, which are three other dogs, and one cat. Lucy gets along well with everyone except for the cat that she repeatedly pulls away from the smallest puppy in the house.
