When you discovering that you’re expecting a baby, I am sure that it is an incredibly precious and blessed moment. Finding out that you’re carrying triplets — now that comes as a shock to most mothers. 23-year-old Becki Allen from Liverpool, England could not believe her ears when doctors informed her that she was expecting triplets.
But she was in for a second big surprise. When Beck-Jo gave birth, she received another massive surprise — one that no one was prepared for, not even the doctors. It turns out that her three baby boys were incredibly rare: they were identical triplets. The chances of this happening? One in 200 million, according to statistics.
Beck and Liam had the great privilege of informing their young daughter that she would become a big sister a few years ago.
They decided to have more children in the future after discussing their desired number of children while living in Liverpool, England. However, they had no idea they had so many until they looked at the ultrasound.
Early in her pregnancy, Becki-Jo got quite sick and had severe headaches. The doctors scheduled her ultrasound earlier than usual, which is when the couple learned the shocking news: she was expecting triplets.
“It was the biggest shock of my life! We haven’t got any triplets in the family so it came completely out of the blue,” Becki-Jo told the Liverpool Echo.
The three boys born on that cherished day were given the names Roman, Rocco, and Rohan. They were delivered via caesarean section just 31 weeks into their pregnancy. They weighed 3-5 kilograms and needed to spend the principal weeks in escalated care.
Being pregnant with triplets usually involves major complications, and it is rare for all three babies to survive.
Fortunately, all of the boys recovered quickly and recovered in good health. After approximately a month, they were discharged from the hospital.
Doctors said that the boys weren’t identical triplets. But everyone who visited the family noticed how incredibly similar the boys were. And so, Becki-Jo decided to look into it further.
She contacted a company to conduct a DNA test. After samples were collected and sent to a laboratory, she got her answer. Roman, Rocco, and Rohan were genetically identical.
Triplet deliveries have become more common with in vitro fertilization and other infertility treatments. But identical triplets are extremely rare.
Typically, an egg is required for twins to divide. However, in the early stages of pregnancy, travel necessitates that these two eggs be able to divide once more. In any given year, only four sets of identical triplets are born in an American hospital.
In spite of the fact that they all appear to be identical, Beck said, “The possibly time they appear to be identical to me is the point at which they’re resting. However, each of them has a distinct personality. Additionally, they all have dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, with the exception of Roman. Rohan is also darker than the others and has a birthmark on his leg.
The triplets go through about 130 diapers per week. Add to that five packages of wipes per week and you can see that these little guys keep their parents busy.

6-year-old Indiana seems quite happy with her unique brothers. What a proud big sister!
“Indiana loves them. She’s not one bit jealous. I do feel a bit sorry for her when I think what it’s going to be like growing up with three little brothers though!” said Becki-Jo.
These guys will probably get a lot of attention for a while. And I think they deserve it, because they’re a really adorable bunch!
