These Best Friends Of 30 Years Build A Tiny Town Where They Can Grow Old Together

What a beautiful idea. I’d love to do this with my best friends!

One group of Texas friends knew they wanted to spend their retirements together.

They thought of how they would be able to go about doing this; buy a piece of land and build a giant house, buy multiple RV’s and travel together, their ideas were endless.

However, they had a final decision when they heard about a movement that was, and still is, making its way across the country.

That’s the tiny house movement which began to show up in the early 2000s and has continued to thrive ever since.

After the couples heard about it, they believed they had found the answer to all their prayers.

Accordingly, they contacted an architect named Matt Garcia, and asked him if he would help them bring their plans into reality.

Matt agreed and soon the group was on the hunt for the perfect piece of land.

They settled on a 10-acre parcel on the Llano River and soon began to design and build their retirement dreams.

There would be 5 buildings in total, 1 for each of the couples and 1 main common building where they could enjoy each other’s company.

Each tiny house has a queen bed, a loveseat, and a full bathroom.

The kitchen and laundry facilities are in the common area where there is also a flat-screen TV and a large beautiful table made with reclaimed wood where they can all gather together and enjoy each other’s company.

These 4 couples have the same passion on helping the environment and are in awe of the natural beauty of the Llano River.

They are all retired, but some of the couples still have their houses in the city and use their tiny house as an escape.

Because there are times when some of the houses are sitting vacant, the group realized they could be making a bit of money by renting them out on Airbnb.

Whether to different families, or one large group, the idea that their little community can also bring in a little cash is something all the couples are pleased with.

The group has chosen the name “The Llano Exit Strategy” for their community and they even have it written on their front gate

These elderly friends managed to do something that many people have only dreamed of, a place for friends to gather as they age and enjoy each other’s company.

One of the residents, Jodi Zipp, believes open and honest communication is the key to succeeding with an idea like this.

“Always be honest with your friends. If you can successfully navigate everyone’s ideas for what this can be, this kind of project can be an amazing experience and the perfect way to stay connected.”

This brilliant idea has inspired numerous other groups of friends as well.
