Boy Didn’t Ask For Any Gifts From Santa Instead Request To Help His Sister.

The eight-year-old boy who wrote a heartfelt letter to Santa asking for help to stop his sister from being вυℓℓιє∂ at school got one of his Christmas wishes early.

The story began when the twins’ mother, Karen Suffern, of Rocky Mount, N.C., asked her 8-year-old twins to write a letter to Santa with their Christmas wishes over the weekend. She expected to see toys, books and clothes on the list and was shocked to see her son’s heartfelt request for Santa to intervene and put an end to his sister’s вullчíng.

RYAN’S TOUCHING SANTA LETTER

“Dear Santa,
My mom said to send you a Christmas list. I wanted a remote control car and helicopter but I do not want that anymore.
Kids at school are still picking on Amber and it is not fair because she does not do anything to them and it makes me mad.
I prayed they would stop, but God is busy and I need your help.
Is it against the rules to give up gifts early?
Can you ask Big Time Rush to come to Amber’s birthday party? It will make her so happy.
If you do not get them to come that is fine, just get her everything she asked for.
Thanks Santa,
Love Ryan
PS- My mom throws the best birthday parties. You can come if you want.’

Ryan Suffern’s letter made news around the world after his mum Karen posted it on her Facebook page over the weekend, it touched on the fact he wanted to give up his presents to help his twin sister Amber – but also his daughter’s broken heart was hurting.

It also asked that his favourite band Big Time Rush come to Amber’s birthday party as it would “make her so happy”.

After seeing the letter, Good Morning America brought the family to New York today and while Amber was being interviewed about being вυℓℓιє∂.

What Amber didn’t know during the interview was that her favourite band, Big Time Rush, was waiting in the wings to surprise her as an early birthday present, exactly what Ryan wanted. The family will also be VIP guests of the band at a concert this weekend in New York.

Ryan wrote the touching letter after single mom Suffern had asked her kids to write to Santa so she could get an idea of what presents they wanted for Christmas

Amber explained how the kids at school pick on her, but said she didn’t know why.

“They say I’m fat. I’m stupid. I’m ugly. And I’m hideous. I don’t really believe them,” she told Elliott.

Ryan said he wishes kids would bother him instead of his sister.

“You don’t have to do that,” Amber said.

“Yes, I do,” he interjected.

Amber said Ryan is a “fun,” “active” and protective brother and that she was touched by his letter to Santa Claus.

Starting a Conversation About вullчíng

Karen was already aware that her daughter was вυℓℓιє∂ at school and it broke her heart. “She would say things to me that kids would say at school,” Karen explained. “They would stop her from doing different things: she would crawl on the floor of a bus. You know, she would eat things off chairs…. It hurt me because I was like, ‘I hope she’s not feeling the way I felt when I was her age’? And it was a pattern.”

Karen was also вυℓℓιє∂ in her childhood. In a recent conversation with Amber, she said, “sometimes I feel like I want to die so they’ll leave me alone.” It was at that point that Karen decided she had to break up.

“As soon as those words came out of her mouth, I literally felt my heart stop,” Karen said, getting emotional. “I told her I would do everything I could to protect her.”

Karen said that Amber suffered from ADHD, depression, and mood disorders. Because of Ryan’s letter, Karen was allowed to start a dialogue with her children’s school, which made things better for Amber.

“Today and yesterday she didn’t wake up begging me to let her stay home, so I think that’s a good sign,” Karen said.

This shows how a letter from a little one, rightly motivated, could have a big impact.

She was visibly shocked when the band members held her hand and serenaded her as an early birthday present for her, as Ryan had requested in his letter to Santa.

But more importantly, the letter allowed Karen Suffern to discuss the number вullчíng with Rocky Mount Preparatory in North Carolina so they could work towards improving the school for her daughter.

Karen said, “The school has been in touch and they’re making sure my daughter feels comfortable and safe. They moved her on the bus because about 98 percent of the bullying takes place on the bus. She’s now sitting with her cousin who’s much older than Amber is”.
