Loving Special Needs Teen Visits Late Mother’s Tombstone To Tell Her ‘I did it. I graduated.’

Graduation is a big moment in every young person’s life; it’s a time for celebration and a chance for parents to let their children know just how proud they are of them.

But for one teen he couldn’t celebrate his outstanding achievement with a hug and kind words from his parent so instead had to do something very special to mark the occasion.

That’s what happened to one teen with special needs named Paul Jr., whose mother passed away in 2010, as you’ll see in this touching video and as KSLA reports. But what’s so moving is that her no longer being alive didn’t stop him from letting her know of his achievement and including her in his celebration. Captured in a video, the moment has since been shared on the internet, allowing us all to participate and honor the young man in his wonderful achievement.

In the video that was posted to YouTube, the teen is seen looking dressed up and dapper, as he wears a button-up shirt, tie, and pants on his big day.

In the video, he walks up through the cemetery to her grave while holding a bouquet of flowers. Once he arrives at her grave, he speaks to his mother telling her the big news. He says:

“Mommy, I have something to say, that I did it. I did it. I graduated today. And I know you’re so proud of me and happy. I love you so much.”

He then placed the bouquet on her gravestone and left a kiss for her.

It was a truly emotional moment when a young boy, who resisted all difficulties, achieved an important milestone in his life. Even though his mother wasn’t around to share the moment in person, he was still able to speak to her in spirit.

I can’t imagine what this bittersweet moment was for this strong young man and how difficult it was to visit her grave on such a happy day for him.

Congratulations to the young man for graduating — he should be very proud of himself, both for his hard work and also for the beautiful way he included his mother in his celebration.
