A sophisticated, elegant woman stepped up to the bar on a luxury cruise ship. With a charming smile, she caught the bartender’s eye and said:
“A double whiskey, please. And exactly two drops of water.”
The bartender masterfully prepared the drink and slid it across the mahogany counter. The lady lifted her glass with grace and added with a hint of pride:
“I booked this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday. And today, as it turns out, is the big day!”
The bartender’s jaw nearly dropped. “Eighty? No way, I don’t believe it! You look incredible. This one’s on the house. Happy birthday, ma’am!”
She thanked him and began to sip slowly, savoring every drop.
A woman sitting a few stools down turned to her with a warm smile.
“Please, let me buy you a round to celebrate such a milestone!”
“How sweet of you!” the birthday girl replied. “Bartender, another whiskey and two drops of water, please.”
A moment later, a gentleman from the other side of the bar raised his hand.
“It would be an honor to buy a drink for such a lovely lady!”
The centenarian-to-be laughed. “Well, I must be the luckiest woman on this ship! Bartender, one more time: whiskey and two drops of water.”
As the bartender was prepping the third glass, his curiosity finally got the better of him. He leaned in and whispered:
“Ma’am, I just have to ask—why the whiskey with exactly two drops of water every single time?”
She gave him a sly grin and a mischievous wink.
“Honey,” she said, “at my age, my body handles the alcohol just fine. But it’s the water that keeps me running to the bathroom all night!”
