Adopted baby with D.o.w.n syndrome goes viral after smiling for mom

Nothing melts the heart more than seeing babies smile brightly.

Call me a softy all you want, but there’s nothing quite like seeing young children beaming with joy.

This may explain why a video posted by the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network a few years back soon went viral, becoming extremely popular throughout the internet.

More than 14 million people have now seen the video, which shows an adopted infant with Down syndrome smiling happily at her adoptive mother.

It’s not difficult to understand why: the baby is simply gorgeous. She understands she is part of a loving family, and the joy she is spreading is merely an extension of her happiness.

The National Down Syndrome Adoption Network (NDSAN) was founded to ensure that every child with Down syndrome has the opportunity to grow up in a loving household.

Robin and David Steele created the organization in 1982 after falling in love with Martha, a little girl with Down syndrome who lived at a children’s home.

Given all of the anxiety and strife in the world today, it is critical that we all take the time to appreciate the tiny things that make us happy. Something as simple as a baby’s laugh or smile can help restore some trust in humanity.

Furthermore, I challenge you to view the video below without feeling moved in some manner. Small babies and their inherent attractiveness may not appeal to everyone, but there is something special about this baby that will almost certainly make you feel better after watching the footage.

Well, that clip certainly brought a big smile to my face! How about you?
