Carly had been planning a romantic anniversary trip to Bali, but things took an unexpected turn. On the day of the flight, she learned that her husband’s little child would be accompanying them. Carly declined, feeling caught off guard because it wasn’t the intimate getaway she had hoped for, and the situation swiftly escalated. She contacted out to tell her story and seek guidance on how to handle this difficult situation.
This is Carly’s letter:
We were off to Bali for our anniversary. That morning, my husband said we had to bring his 5 y.o. son with us because his ex’s parents were in a car cra:s:h. I said, “This is supposed to be romantic-l won’t be babysitting.” We fought, so I went alone.
While there, I was scrolling Fa.ceb.o.o.k. Suddenly, I froze when I saw my husband with his ex-wife in a photo, smiling and having dinner at our favorite restaurant-the place where he proposed to me. The photo was posted just 20 minutes ago.
Furious, I called him and asked, “I thought your ex was devastated and in the hospital. Are you two on a romantic date?” He claimed he took her and son there because they hadn’t eaten all day and he wanted to lighten the mood. But I didn’t see the kid in the photo. I told him I didn’t believe him and hung up.
Now, as I return from Bali, I feel lost and confused. What was meant to be a romantic trip turned into a nightmare, and I’m unsure if my husband and his ex are secretly having an aff:a:ir.
