Some people are lucky to have easygoing roommates, but not everyone is. In this collection, people recount their worst roommate experiences, some of which are so outrageous that they feel like they came straight out of a movie.
The Story:
I lived with my roommate for two years until she abruptly vanished. She was always bright and happy, then one day she disappeared without a trace. Despite police attempts, no one could find her, and her parents gave up hope.
Five years later, while cleaning her room before selling the property, I lifted a dresser and discovered a concealed hole in the wall. Inside, I discovered a stack of notes that stated, “If I ever disappear, you need to urgently look for me at Jake’s cabin in the mountains.”
Her boyfriend’s name was Jake. He had a nasty temper, yet she stuck with him because she loved him. I remembered her saying something about how “controlling and unpredictable” he was, but I didn’t think much of it. After discovering the notes, I immediately alerted the authorities.
Sadly, it was too late. Jake had vanished as well, and the last anyone knew, he had traveled to Europe. She had been missing for too long.
I still think about that letter and wonder what actually happened.
