A couple was mortified when their best man delivered a wedding speech with the ‘greatest punchline ever.’

Speeches are an important and memorable part of any couple’s wedding day.

It’s not only a chance to wish the newlyweds luck in their future together, but it’s also an opportunity to have some harmless fun.

Some wedding speeches stand out more than others, and not necessarily for the right reasons.

For illustratve purpose only

For example, one bride utilized the special occasion to reveal her fiancé’s ᴀғғᴀɪʀ.

Instead of delivering a meaningful and emotional speech, she read aloud ғɪʟᴛʜʏ communications between her boyfriend and his lover.

One such ʀᴀᴄʏ screenshot stated, “This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”

While another said: “Your body is f***ing incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”

Unsurprisingly, this day didn’t end with: “…and they all lived happily ever after.”

Another story became popular on Reddit, in which a bride inquired if she was the ‘a**hole’ for cutting off a buddy after their speech.

When it came to wedding speeches, the woman had a few rules, one of which was to avoid discussing the ’embarrassing’ method she met her partner.

To her astonishment, the friend stood up and delivered a speech, telling the entire wedding party how she and her boyfriend met.

“The room literally fell completely silent as my friend spoke,” she recalled.

The bride was supposedly so angry that she called off her wedding day early.

Unlike the Reddit user, one man’s speech left a wedding party in stitches.

A Scottish couple named Gary and Kirsty were celebrating their wedding with family and friends when Derek, the best man and groom’s brother, went up to say a few words.

The video, initially posted on TikTok, was captioned: “This could be the best punchline from a best man’s speech ever.”

Those who’ve watched the viral video can’t believe what the best man said, with one viewer writing: “The absolute fear in the groom’s eyes there. That’s when you know a speech is about to be good.”

Another adds: “I would ᴅɪᴇ of embarrassment.”

“They will never live that down,” a third replies.

Derek’s speech began with a memory from one Christmas morning when he woke up to go downstairs and was greeted by a slap on the face from his mom, who said: “What did I tell you about bringing folk back here?”

The best man recalled: “‘I say, ‘What are you talking about mom, I’ve been in my bed the full night.’

“Obviously she’s not thinking about golden child next door.”

He continued: “So we’re in the living room opening a couple of presents, me, my mom, and my dad, and we hear rustling from the wee room in the auld house, as we called it.

“At this point, I go up the stairs, open Gary’s room, and there you have it, Kirsty, lying with her legs at ten to two. She certainly never came down the chimney in that position anyway. Merry Christmas, Kirsty.”

This last line of Derek’s speech left guests in stitches while the bride looked mortified with her hands over her face.
