Meghan Markle has a lot going for her, and people are only now finding out about one of her hidden talents.
People are only now recognizing Meghan Markle has a hidden skill during her journey to Colombia with Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed in the South American country on Thursday (August 15), where they attended the Petronio Alvarez Pacific Music Festival in Cali, alongside Vice President Francia Marquez. They even delivered a touching speech to the crowds on Sunday (August 18).
Harry looked handsome in a blue button-down shirt, and Meghan wore a lovely green and white summer dress. People were talking about Meghan’s ability to speak Spanish rather than what they were wearing.
People have commented on the former Suits star’s talent in video clips posted to social media. In one, shared by Hello Magazine, she was heard translating for her spouse.
“Thank you for your warm welcome,” the Duke could be heard saying. Meghan then translated the message into Spanish. Harry then continued: “Thank you for your beautiful culture,” and Meghan repeated his well-wishes once again.
“And thank you, thank you, for your incredible hospitality,” Harry added. His wife then perfectly translated the comment.
One fan wrote: “Wow her Spanish is really good. Impressed with her accent.” “Is there anything the woman can’t do??? She’s brilliant!” agreed another.
Meanwhile a third chimed in: “She is incredibly talented.” A fourth added: “Spanish is my first language and she knows more spanish that I do!”
Meghan speaks Spanish fluently. While attending Northwestern University, she interned as a junior press officer at the American embassy in Buenos Aires and studied abroad in Madrid before graduating with a double major in drama and international studies in 2003.
However, while the Duchess is bilingual, it appears that her husband Harry lacks the same ability. Further footage from the same event during their trip to Colombia shows Harry attempting to address fans in Spanish, saying “Buenas noches” – which translates to “good evening” – but eventually relying on Meghan to translate.
