Last night, country singer Ingrid Andress astonished the crowd at the MLB Home Run Derby by performing her own version of the national anthem.
Most agreed that her interpretation was among the best, if not the worst, of all time.
“Wow! “@IngridAndress actually did it, she united America. #HRDerby,” one spectator tweeted.
The four-time Grammy nominee made history by performing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Home Run Derby at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
From the first notes, it was apparent that Andress’ performance would be remembered for years.
Have a listen for yourself.
People had a lot to say after hearing the country singer.
“I think we all owe Fergie an apology,” someone said, referring to Fergie’s performance of the national anthem during the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
“Made fergie sound like whitney houston”
“The worst national anthem I have ever heard. Simply disrespectful asf.”
“I hope Ingrid Andress stays off of social media for a minute”
“I’m so sorry, I’m sure Ingrid Andress is a wonderful person, but that was one of the worst national anthems I think I’ve ever heard in my whole life.”
It is impressive that this Ingrid Andress has missed every single note. That was painful #HomeRunDerby

Without a doubt, “The Star Spangled Banner” is an extremely difficult song to sing, thus instead of possibly embarrassing vocalists, venues should use recordings of Whitney Houston’s performance of the national anthem.
