How to Do a Baking Soda Pedicure at Home!

If we think about taking care of ourselves, we often talk about facial masks, hair removal, makeup, etc. There are parts of the body that are too often neglected or forgotten. However, they are no less important. Indeed, the beauty of the feet is also something to be done. Even just a pedicure is far too often forgotten whether for men or women, it is often necessary.

Getting expensive pedicures and using fancy products to care for your feet isn’t always the best way to keep them functional.

Today’s article will show you an easy do-it-yourself treatment that will help keep your feet safe and healthy.

This will prevent dry, flaky and tired feet in no time.

What’s needed

  • 5 tablespoons of baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate)
  • Your shower gel
  • A few drops of essential oil (here we recommend true lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon or sweet orange essential oil)
  • A moisturizing cream at the top of hydration
  • Optional: brush or pumice stone

Instructions

  1. Before starting, place your feet in a basin of warm water for 5 minutes. The foot bath before the treatments will soften the skin very effectively.
  2. Make a mixture of the three ingredients by putting the baking soda in a bowl, adding a little shower gel little by little to create a grainy paste. Finish with a few drops of essential oil.
  3. Rub and massage your feet with this mixture to remove dead skin even better than commercial scrubs. If the skin is really tough, use an exfoliating brush or pumice stone on thick calluses and cracks. On the other hand, do it without rubbing too hard so as not to injure your heels.
  4. Rinse and apply a nourishing repair cream to your beautiful feet. Shea butter or vegetable oil such as argan oil, coconut oil or sweet almond oil could also do the trick. It’s time to treat yourself to a good foot massage to remove dryness and corniness from tired feet! After that, your feet will be as soft as after a pedicure!
