There are many different ways to give a speech at someone’s wedding. You can choose to tell a few funny anecdotes about the happy couple and at the same time share the joyous moments of their relationship. You can also opt for something more personable and emotional, sharing your true joy for them and their marriage.
Gus Bower, 9, from Denver, Colorado, went with the latter when he had the opportunity to give a speech at his sister’s wedding. The boy couldn’t help but feel emotional as he spoke in front of his sister and her new husband, along with plenty of their family members and friends. His sister Catie, 27, had just gotten married to her new husband Troy Hudson.
Clearly, the entire experience was a lot for Gus to take in, as he couldn’t stop the tears from rolling down his cheeks. He was so overwhelmed with his emotions that the young boy even broke down and started to cry. The 9-year-old even got choked up while continuing to deliver his speech.
A professional videographer Ori Swiatkowski that was hired for the beautiful wedding captured a video of this young boy’s touching speech and later uploaded it to her TikTok. The video has since gone on to be shared with people from all over the world who were just as moved as everyone in the video was. It’s clear that the kind words Gus said resonated with many.

It seemed like there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Gus delivered his heartfelt speech at his sister’s wedding. Catie and Troy reportedly have known each other since before Gus was even born. The couple started dating in February 2014 and got engaged in June 2019. They tied the knot in August 2021.
As Gus delivered his speech, he couldn’t contain his emotions. “I know I might seem a little sad up here, but these are tears of joy,”. As he continued, it was clear that seeing his sister happy meant a lot to him, and he definitely approved of who she chose to marry. Gus said: “Catie, I love you so much and I am so happy that you gave me a brother-in-law,”
