6 Seemingly Harmless Habits That Can Leave Your Marriage In Shreds

1. Marriage means that important decisions are made by both of you.

Don’t make purchases that affect the other person without consulting them first. If you make a habit of buying, selling or deciding on the fly, even for small things, without informing your spouse, you may unintentionally undermine his or her trust in your partnership.

2. Little white lies

Little white lies can slowly, but surely, destroy your husband’s trust in your words. They can also cause him to doubt you or, worse, ignore you completely.

3. Nagging

Even if what you’re insisting on really needs to be done, constant, whiny reminders will hardly inspire love at the end of the day.

4. Interrupting

Cutting your partner off during a conversation is not only annoying, it’s also disrespectful to them and a lack of self-control.

The message you are sending to your partner, and anyone else in the room, is essentially, “What I say and think is more important or interesting than what you say or think.”

5. Be careful with correction!

Make sure your spouse knows that there is no intention to show off, embarrass or belittle him or her. And of course, make sure that any correction you try to make is actually accurate. There is no point in creating problems for nothing.

6. Don’t compare your spouse to other people.

There is almost no way to see this in a positive way, and without an air of criticism. Your spouse is who they are, you are who you are, and it is unfair to ask them to be more like someone else.
